Fly away with me

As part of our inquiry this term we have been learning about and making different kinds of kites.

We decided to make a kite using rubbish bags as the material.

We thought they would fly the best because rubbish bags do not rip easily and are very light.

First we had to get a plastic rubbish bag and cut a diamond shape out.

Then we made a 't' shape with our two kebab sticks to create a frame for the kite and secured them with sticky tape.

Next we had to tie a long piece of string in the middle of the kebab sticks, so our kite can fly.

Finally, we decorated our diamond kites and added a tail.

Our diamond kites look great!

We had lots of fun flying our kites on the field...
